It never hurts to be reminded of stuff you take for granted! I was taking a break in Germany and the lady at the next table was likewise alone. So I struck up a conversation, only to find that she had recently resigned from her job (HR manager) because it was too stressful. She is young, and energetic and spoke with assurance of some intelligence and let me know her husband was a fitness/sport trainer. Of course, I immediately told her he needed our wound cream because active athletes invariably experience scrapes and cuts.
Letting the information of that conversation percolate, the next day I suggested we might review if she and her Husband may be in a position to consider being our warehouse and anchor for the German market.
A day later I was talking to Luz (my muse of all good things) and she advised me that we are getting clearance to sell in Europe from AMAZON! I let Susanna (ladies name) know of this development and we decided to have a serious conversation to explore what this could all mean. Apart from being a real case of “from acorns mighty Oaks (might) grow” she said she had questions. And here it was interesting because I realized I no longer see the forest for the trees!
Why do you think we can succeed in Germany, what makes your product worth promoting?
Good question, busy developing new product ideas, I had not given much thought to this, apart from keeping the quality at the stage of excellence we strive for. So I went through our range:
Our wound cream: has a high functioning base of 15% Manuka honey UMF 15+. What does that mean? Well, it has higher Manuka content and a higher UMF value of 15+ (MGO 514 )than competitors, Thereby offering a surer healing and lower scaring than they do.
Also, our formula eliminates the stickiness of the honey so you avert hair and clothes sticking to your wound. Also, the formula helps retain the plumping of the epidermis to assist in the healing. Lastly, we eliminated the water from the formula, which caused the honey to ferment and create an undesirable odor.
Lip (care) Balm: We should have put that on the packaging. Apart from an advanced formula that makes the need for usage much reduced, the Manuka content is really what takes care of your lips. If anyone suffers from dry lips or worse cracked lips. This is your go-to product. Nicely packaged in a fully recyclable paper tube, which also you can use up to the last application, it “cares” for your lips, and not only works as an application. Great wee poems on the boxes!
ReviveR™: Because I was experiencing very Aggravating Saw dust rash (I like to work in my carpentry shop) I went on the hunt for a barrier cream that would protect my skin (it works for 48 hours), but also I wanted a good all-round skin cream to help regenerate drying skin. The product, in tests, was Golden, BUT we found out that again fermentation was creating an odor. We have changed that by adding a citrus scent, and now we are in harmony with our aspirations, ONLY A+ products.
Back to Germany! Susanna now had a picture of the product and why (gave her a sample). Ours was a chance encounter. We have a product, the desire to be a world brand and quality to achieve this. Susanna is a long shot step but probably will work out to be our German Base. To any young person reading this or being mentored by the reader. This is how business starts! Dream but stay awake!
