Undeniably, an amazing change has hit the world in what we thought was the norm. Gaza a resort, Ukraine at fault for the invasion by Russia, Benefits removed, Military top brass removed etc.
In the last two weeks, ironically, two people have come into my conversations, unhappy with their private situation, created in part from their inability to take action.
It is no longer clear to me how mother conveyed to me the urgency to be active rather than dither in indecision. As refugees and foreigners, I am sure the awareness that we were STUCK with our lot, made the need for positive action, of the essence.
The young lady, talking to me, was in a bind in her marriage. Her hopes and dreams had lost importance in the clash with career and over involvement in her husband’s over-bearing hobby “vintage cars”. There was no time for family picnics, weekend getaways or holidays unless it involved his passion. She was a stay-at-home mother of two, 7 & 9. Her plight was what one may say a first world problem, but of deep distress for her.
Some months ago she had mentioned being overwhelmed by having no recovery time. I suggested she get a cleaning service to remove some of her chores, and thus create personal space. In this current situation, I asked if she had approached her husband about this plan. He had agreed, she had not acted. Here was a chance she had to improve her situation; she had let it falter. So I suggested she take this first action, see how her situation improved or not, and she may decide to take counseling with her husband to clear the air towards a level of understanding, an open marriage if that is what they were both secretly vying for, etc.
My other conversation was with a 60+ business owner, who has been trying to sell his company for some 10 years. He is talented, has built a good company completely dependent on himself, allowing his behavior to sabotage anyone who may have helped him grow the company.
He now has an employee who would be willing to buy the company, but he says he is interested in her acquiring the company, but in the 6 months of discussing this transition has not been willing to let customers know of the pending transaction, and continued to keep the team in the dark as to future intentions. As with the young lady above, here is another example of actions sabotaging the supposedly intended outcome.
Less than 50% of the population voted in the last elections. It would seem close to 15% of the population will have an immediate decline in living standards and the rest is yet to come.
What to do? As I have said to my kids and friends, what mothers often imply: Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve does not cut it! See it, do it, live it is the least easy but most fruitful way to proceed. I heard that life’s trajectory happens in 5 seconds.
You have a thought, you either act or ignore it. You see an injustice, you hear false narratives, your gut tells you do something….make that decision to do something.
Right now, the political tsunami leaves us all a little off kilter.

The fact that way under half the population elected this government leaves us in the position of our two subjects. They are in a situation created by themselves. They are seemingly not willing or able to change, and their life will lead them to psychosomatic illnesses and a shell of what might be.
I wish us all the courage to be, not combative, but thoughtful in our decisions to allow the USA to be what it can be, its best, generous, dynamic self.
Shamelessly as the leader of Honey for Healing®, I am obliged to urge my kind readers to support our company by making sure your first aid cupboard has our wound cream at hand. That your lips, which are “made for kissing, not for such contempt,“ have our lip balm as an ever-ready companion..
The formulation of the lip balm lends itself to being applied before going to bed, so the honey can hydrate your lips. Did you know our lips have no sweat glands or personal moisturizing glands, hence they dry out and chap.
